Description (What the record is about)
-
Letter from J.P. to W.P.G. stating that with regard to the 5 acceptances paid in since 30 June they appear, with the exception of those of Messrs Soane & Smith & Mr Standish, to be such as would probably not involve any risk of liability. The exceptions are "renewals" contemplated by clause 8 of the Agreement. He has heard from Mr Fitter that the Contract has been engrossed, signed by Mr Ratcliff and forwarded to Coalport for the signatures of Mr Pugh & Mr Gelson. Thus by this time they should be ready to exchange contracts with Mr Bruff and receive the deposit. He is acting with Mr Fitter's London agents to present the petition for the confirmation of the Contract by the Vacation Judge. He doubts, however, that the settlement of the Receiver's Account would be sufficiently urgent to be dealt with as vacation business. He thinks that after inspection of the accounts by all parties the purchaser should be happy to pay the balance of the purchase money on the confirmation of the contract alone. He observes that the agreement provides for the deposit being paid to the Executors, and that this would mean the money being paid into Court. He suggests it may be placed into a "suspense" account at W.P.G.'s bank.
