Which recites will of Philip Matthews of Linton, Hereford 15 Jan 1869 leaving estate called Blagdon to niece Penelope Higgins to apply rents to maintain three children of his late nephew Rev. Samuel Higgins. Insufficient funds for legacies so Blagdon Farm in the parishes of Kingston and Malden was mortgaged to parties in 2 for £6000
Described as 233 acres 1 rood 9 perches intersected by L.S.E.R. and a portion sold for that railway being the form shown on the O.S. 1867 map as 229 acres 2r 17p; in occupations of A Horlick and [?] Dricker as tenants of P Higgins with all houses, buildings etc.

Ordered that the Underwoods be appointed guardian of the infants' estates.
