Description

Engine with 20 inch cylinder, 3 foot stroke, parallel motion, cast iron beam.

General drawings:
Plan and sections of the engine - sheet of partially coloured tracings also showing position of existing engine etc. (marked "No. 1", not dated).
Set of numbered drawings: No. 1 - General Plan of the waterworks showing existing and additional engine houses, pipes, filter beds etc. (copy); No. 2 - plan and sections of the "additional engine house" (coloured original and partially coloured copy); No. 3 - sections of the engine and engine house (coloured original and partially coloured copy); [Nos. 4 missing]; No. 5 - Town pump and girders (copy); No. 6 - suction and delivery valves, air vessel, air valve, foundation girders (copy). The original drawings were made in Dec. 1892, and passed to James Watt & Co., who made copies in May 1893. The copies were allocated letter codes.
