Print of Pittsburgh - on dorse:
The within is the city of Pittsburgh where I am now but taken before the fire of 1845. The left hand River is the Allegheny where our Lands lay & where we come up & down in the Steam Boats I am now writing to you in a house near to the spire church you see in the centre of the City & the large Building adjoining is the County Hall with a dome on like St. Pauls. There are many straight streets near from two to three miles in length. The River on the Right is the Menengahela & from the junction of these Rivers runs all the Heavy Boats to New Orleans & they are supplied principally with coal from here - Give this to Tisdale to put on a board for Isabel to hang up in her bedroom
