Oughterside Colliery: Proposals for letting for a 14-year term (liberty to erect new dam-head to supply the Colliery's Engine-wheel with water; lessee to buy the outgoing lessee's coals "now in the Steath at Allanby"; surcharge of rent if more than 5200 tons be mined in any one year), with memo of lease at £90 p.a. to John Kirkhaugh of Aspatria, 1 Jan. 1780; and the lease itself (not completed), which refers to the steath as "Nigh Allonby", and to the new lessee as "yeoman", 1780
