Records have been transferred by East Yorkshire Borough of Beverley Council and East Riding of Yorkshire Council and consist of the following amalgamated accessions or part accessions: 1295, 1480, 4030, 4341

Administrative / biographical background

The land for Queensgate Cemetery was acquired by the Beverley Corporation in 1905. A part of the Cemetery was also used for burials from the East Riding asylum in Walkington from 1911. A further part of the Cemetery opened in 1919 when it was required for burials from St Mary's parish. Responsibility for the cemetery was transferred to the East Yorkshire Borough of Beverley Council in 1974 and then to East Riding of Yorkshire Council in 1996.
