Administrative / biographical background: Loyalty Lodge was granted a warrant by the Antients' Grand Lodge to meet as No. 349 on 18 August 1810. The Lodge met in a private room at an unknown location in Guernsey, Channel Islands and also operated under a Moderns' Grand Lodge warrant as Lodge of Loyalty, No. 623 [SN 1549]. After the union between the Antients' Grand Lodge and the Moderns' Grand Lodge to form the United Grand Lodge of England in 1813, the Lodge was renumbered to meet as No. 448. The Lodge returned the Moderns' Grand Lodge warrant in 1829. By 1828 the Lodge met at Cole's Hotel, Market Street, Guernsey. The Lodge was renumbered to meet as No. 299 in 1832 and was granted its present number No. 243 in 1863. The Lodge continued to meet at various locations in St Peter's Port, Guernsey and now meets at The Masonic Centre, Rue de la Vallee, St Martin's, Guernsey.
