Description

These volumes consist almost entirely of copies of correspondence between on the one hand the British Monarch, the Secretary of State for India and the Viceroy of India and on the other Asian rulers - principally the Shah of Persia and the Amir of Afghanistan - and various Indian princes. The letters from the Asian rulers and princes are English translations from the original vernacular.
