p.1. 17 July 1849. Unhealthy state of the new gaol

p. 5. 4 Oct. 1849. Brownlow's presentation of the old oriel window in John of Gaunt's house

Dr. Charlesworth thanked for his report on the sanitary state of the gaol

p.117. 11 Nov. 1851. On receipt of an independent report obtained by Sheffield and Chaplin, various measures are taken to improve the health of the gaol

p.193. 15 July 1853. Adjourned sessions to elect a new surgeon

p.251. 26 Oct. 1854. The magistrates ask the sheriff to dismiss the gaoler, Mr. Nicholson, after two escapes by the 'notorious convict Joseph Ralph'

The sheriff (A. Willson) says he will be happy to receive the recommendation of the gaol sessions regarding the appointment of a successor p.299. 27 Dec. 1855. The county to provide militia storehouses at Grantham and Lincoln under 18 and 19 Vict. cap. 57. Tenders for the sites to be sent two committees, one for Lindsey and one for Kesteven and Holland

p.311. 3 Apr. 1856. The purchase of the Burton Rd site on Willson agreed on - 3 acres at £400 per acre. The lord lieutenant to be asked whether he would consider another place for the South Lincoln storehouse, since there appears to be no suitable site in Grantham

p.321. 20 May 1856. The purchase of a site at Grantham from Lord Harrowby agreed upon. (Mr. Goddard to be the architect at Lincoln, and Mr. Parry at Sleaford.)

The Holland magistrates (much in evidence at this meeting) require special notice of the business to be brought before the court at each sessions
