The trustees are not able to bring any accusation against me of misconduct, or that I am neglecting my duty. Indeed they can say nothing against me. I am sure that I am as equally able to manage the school as I was, nay much more so, because of the great amount of experience that I have had, when I first began - 45 years ago .... by your kind assistance I shall hope to be able to thwart successfully the designs of the parties, who have set themselves, really because they want to get every thing in the Town into their own power, and for nothing else, against me'.
