Administrative / biographical background

Erected in 1877 and enlarged in 1894, for 240 boys, 160 girls and 152 infants. In 1932 the infants were transferred to Clarence Road to form a new school with the Denne Road infants. In 1935 the boys were transferred to Denne Road school.
