Description

Indenture of sale for purposes of a recovery between Sir Clement Throckmorton of Haseley, co. Warwick, Knight, of the one part and William Greene of ffellongley, co. Warwick, yeoman and William Alexander of Warwick in the same county of the other part, whereby in consideration of £10 Sir Clement bargained and sold to the others the manors of Haseley and Shrevesley als. Shrowley, the rectory or parsonage of Hatton, co. Warwick, the advowson and right of patronage of the parish church of Haseley, the manor, grange or farm of Songer commonly called Songer ffarme lying in the parish of Claredon als. Claverdon, Snitterfield and Wotton, co. Warwick and all other lands of the same lying in Songer, Ediston, Langley, Wolverdington and Claredon, the messuage and lands known as Pinley farme or Pinley feild and Lucye feild lying in the parish of Hatton, the tenement or farm known as Barnemore ffarme in Claverdon als. Claredon and Preston, and all other lands etc. of Sir Clement Throckmorton situate within the towns, parishes, hamlets and fields of Haseley, Shrevesley als. Shrowley, Hatton, Beausall, Claredon als. Claverdon, Snitterfield, Wotton, Songer, Ediston, Longley and Wolverdington, except one parcel of land in Haseley called Austindames and except the lands etc. situate in Haseley, Hatton, Honeley, Beausall, Pinley and Shrevesley als. Shrowley which he, Sir Clement, theretofore purchased of the right honorable Edward Lord Wotton, Roger Burgoyne esquire, Peter Wentworth and Nicholas Wentworth esquires, Thomas Smyth, John Weale, Mathewe Weale, William Sich and William Hill; to the intent and purpose that they William Greene and William Alexander might be absolute tenants of the freehold for a good recovery to be had according to the purport of indentures quadripartite dated 20 November 1623 between Sir Clement Throckmorton, Knight and Clement Throckmorton esquire, his son and heir of the first part Sir William Browne of Radford Semeley, co. Warwick, Knight, Timothy Wagstaffe of the Middle Temple, London, esquire, Thomas Dilke of Mackstocke Castle, co. Warwick, esquire, and Anthony Stoughton of Warwick in the same county, esquire of the second part, Job Throckmorton, second son of Sir Clement of the third part and the said William Greene and William Alexander of the fourth part.
