2) John Stanier, gentleman of Uppington.
Sandford in consideration of £1,260 from Stanier demises the 2 pieces of meadow land called the Upper and Lower Lands (31 acres) and all those pieces of arable land, meadow or pasture called the Calfs Croft (4 acres); the Upper Bottom piece (8 acres) the Lower Bottom piece (20 acres), the Feggy piece (8 acres) all which premises were late in the possession of Edward Edwards and now of Sandford and are in Up Rossall alias the Isle of Rossall; to hold to Stanier from the day before the date of these presents for 1,000 years paying a peppercorn at Michaelmas if demanded, subject to the proviso that if Sandford pays to Stanier £50 8s. during the term of 10 years by equal half yearly portions at Michaelmas and Lady Day, the 1st of the payments to begin at Michaelmas next as the interest of the principal of £1,260 at the rate of 4%, and pay the principal sum at the end of the 10 years, i.e. on 25th March, 1759 this indenture and the term shall be void; Sandford covenants to pay the money as stated; and Sandford at his cost, at the request of Stanier will make a further assurance in the law for conveying the premises to Stanier for 1,000 years; in case of default in the payment Stanier may enter and peacefully occupy the premises.

Docketed: Humphrey Sandford Esq. to Mr. John Stanier A Demise for 1,000 years for securing £1,260 and Interest Dated March 25th 1749. Memorandum Mr. Stanier was paid his principal and interest in full due on the within Mortgage March 25th 1759.
