Vice-President, Sedgley Park School, 1844 - 1848; President, Sedgley Park School, 1848 - 1851. Born in 1812, educated at Sedgley Park School from the age 9, leaving in 1826 to go to St Mary's College, Oscott, Birmingham, to study for the priesthood. He was ordained priest by Bishop Walsh in February 1837 and remained at Oscott as Professor and Prefect of Studies until January 1844. He then returned to Sedgley Park as Vice-President, becoming President in 1848. He was appointed the first Bishop of the See of Shrewsbury in 1851.
