Probate copy of will of Lucy Jones of Oswaldstrey widow, relict of Captain Jones,...

Her late husband in his will dated 11 August 1677 devised property called Rodmeadowes which he purchased of John Blodwell Esq. deceased to her and Isaac Jones their eldest son since deceased, so that she is now sole executrix. She devises all the messuages and burgages and property to Hugh Noden of Milk Street, London, tobacconist and Judeth Jones her eldest daughter, to sell and use the money in payment of debts, the rents till the sale to be used for the same. All her personal estate to her son Jacob Jones and Judeth Jones whom she appoints executors. They are to pay debts and funeral expenses and maintain their brother John and sister Lucy until the portions left to them by their father become due. She nominates Roger Trevor of Oswalstreet gent, George Chambre of Loppington gent, Richard Edwards of Oswaldstree gent and John Jones of Oswaldstree glover to be overseers of the will.

Probate: The executors named have refused to act, so probate is granted to Hugh Noden the principal creditor, 24 May 1708.
