The majority of these records relate to the operation of the archdeaconry during the 19th and 20th centuries, but two files, being the account of rents of Ramsey Abbey (AH44/1) and the tithe rates of Colne, Pidley and Somersham (AH44/2), are of significantly earlier date, and have been included among the supplementary records because of their unclear provenance.

AH44/1 was deposited by the Archdeacon of Huntingdon in 1998; AH44/2 was deposited by the county archivist of Bedfordshire in 1964, with an attached letter listed as AH44/18. Most of the records, broadly comprising AH44/8-50, were deposited in 1998 by the Archdeacon of Huntingdon.
Records listed as AH44/3,5,6 and 7 were deposited separately in 1988. It is believed that some of these records were lodged in the archdeaconry library, but the records are sufficiently various that this may not be the case in all instances.
