This subgroup comprises the client files chiefly of the firm of Nock and Joseland but also of its predecessor partnerships. These files are the core of the firm's business, including correspondence and papers concerning all the elements of the business - rent agency, valuations, sales by auction.
Series D-NAJ/C/1 is the main series of files which chiefly encompasses the clients for whom the firm acted occasionally; the remaining series (D-NAJ/C/2-56) each represent individual clients with whom the firm had a longer-lasting business relationship.
More specialised aspects of the general business covered by the client files, such as surveying or selling by auction, are represented in subgroups D-NAJ/D, E and F.
