Copy of a Draft Marriage Settlement

Whereby, having recited: firstly, that John Redgrave (of Birmingham, Warws., lawstationer) is to marry Susannah White (of Kenilworth, Warws., spinster) with £600 from her estate which will be settled by James White and William Giles Cole (of Coventry, respectively bookkeeper and hatter); secondly, that S. White has invested in J. White's and W.G. Cole's names £200 on a freehold house, owned by John Bushell, at Cubbington, Warws. and £100 on an assignment from Mary Lynes (of Berkswell, Warws., spinster) of her interest under the will of the late William Slingsby (of Foleshill, Coventry, maltster); and thirdly, that by an indenture of even date S. White has assigned to J. White and Cole £300 charged upon houses in Hinckley pa., Leics. Owned by John Ayres: therefore the trustees will stand possessed of the £200, £100 and £300 plus interest for S. White until her marriage, and then upon the securities with which the properties are already charged, paying interest (and dividends if the mortgages are invested) in succession to her for life, J. Redgrave, her nominees and her next of kin.
