His heirs are Agnes, his daughter, late wife of Richard Lawe of Halifax; John Stanhope, eldest son of his late daughter Mary and Walter Stanhope; Thomas Brooke, youngest son and heir of his late daughter Margaret and Thomas Brooke, the younger; Katherine Hanson, his youngest daughter. To these descend lands in Barkisland inherited from Margaret, his mother, daughter and coheir of Thomas Woodhead, with his other lands purchased in Barkisland, Bothomley, Eckleshill, Rastrick, Brighouse and Eland, and not otherwise disposed of.
To his brother Thomas Hanson he leaves Brig house ynge and Heeley Inge in lieu of half the Netherwood house in Rastrick.
To the church and school of Rastrick a rent charge of 20s.
To his wife Joan for life, then to his brother Thomas for life, and after his death to Arthur, Richard and Judith Hanson, his younger children, certain lands (specified) in Rastrick until they have received 101. from them after which they shall remain to Thomas, son and heir of Thomas, and his heirs male.
Other legacies to his grandson Joshua Brooke, the poor of Woodhouse, and others.
