Definite promise of 3 units, contract to be signed next week amounting to approximately £110,000 including accessories. 3) Switzerland: Preliminary Sapphire licence negotiations in progress; basic agreement reached, but further action will depend on Swiss Parliament. 4) Two Sa.6 engines have been sent to Curtis Wright and two more are awaiting despatch instructions; total value, £140,000. 5) Preliminary negotiations with the Belgian Government and Societe general concerning: a) Direct order for Sapphire Sa.6 engines for Gloster Javelin. The number of engines estimated at 100 to 250; value of order £2.5m to £5m, without spares. b) Eventual Sapphire licence to be implemented in 3 phases. 6) 450 engines for Italy with NATO help.
