The Staplegrove Relief-in-Need Charity succeeded Staplegrove Almshouse Charity which acquired nos. 2 & 3 Laburnham Close, Staplegrove (later renamed nos. 155 and 156 Greenway Road) from Miss C.G. Cox in 1911. The houses were subsequently sold to Taunton Borough when the gardens were required for road widening purposes.
