Will of John Parke of Coniston in Ulverstone parish, co. Lancs., milner, made 17 April 1674.
Bequests - to eldest daughter Margaret Parke tenement at Torver, she paying to executors £30.
- To wife for life or "so long as she keeps my name" for bringing up of children, tenement at Holiwarth in Coniston, and then to go to daughter, Rachell Parke, giving to her sister Mary Parke £25; if daughter Rachell dies before 21 or marries, daughter Mary to have tenement;
- To daughter Margarett in full of her child's portion 2s. 6d.
- To mother Margarett Parke one bushell of malt.
Executors: Elizabeth Parke, wife, and Rachell and Mary, daughters.
Supervisors: friends, Mr Roger Fleming, Mr William Fleming, Thomas Atkinson of Hewthwaite [ ] and James Brokelbanke.

Will (copy) of Daniel Fleming of Whitehaven, co. Cumberland, gent, made 30 November 1731.
Bequests: - to daugher, Isabella Fleming, all freehold messuages and lands in Westmorland paying certain sums to wife [further specified];
- To daughter Isabella also 200 sheep belonging as an heirloom to estate at Kentmere;
- To wife, household goods and furniture; also guardianship of daughter (until 21 or married) if widow does not remarry - otherwise to brothers Mr John Younger and Mr Isaac Hamilton, and cousin, David Fleming of Whitehaven.

Premises: all that barn or laith called the New Barne at Johnson place and closes of arable meadow and waste round called Segs, Midlemost closce and Laith Closse, all containing 3 acres at Johnson place in Great Langdall, parcel of His Majesty's lands called the Richmond Fee and of yearly rent of 4d. and lately purchased by William Cowperthwaite of John Johnson.

Bequests - to Thomas Newton of Rydall in Grasmere parish, yeoman, Thomas Robinson of Drumer in Windermere parish, yeoman and Thomas Knott of Ambleside, clerk as trustees a close of arable and meadow called Horse Gap and two parcels of meadow ground being 1 rood lying beyond Dixon-Hoghouse, parcel of his tenement in Ambleside held of Catherine Queen Dowager of the Richmond Fee and of yearly rent of 8d. - to sell and use proceeds to pay debts, rewards, upbringing of younger son Matthew and to putting him to a trade;
- To wife Agnes during her widowhood, all rest of customary messuage and tenement in Ambleside held of the Queen Dowager of the Richmond Fee and of yearly rent of 6s., desiring her to maintain younger son Matthew until 15 years old; and then the same to son David and heirs for ever to pay out of same £30 i.e. £20 to son Matthew within 2 years after his entering the same (£10 within 1 year and £10 within the 2 years), also £10 to daughter Margaret within 3 years; etc.

(lessee of the Crown) under yearly customary rent of 4d. and parcel of customary estate and inheritance of John Hawkrigg, deceased, late father of (1); also all those four closes of arable waste, woody and pasture ground called Blakehowe and Scar-Intack lying on south-east side of slate quarry at foot of White Moss brow in Grasmere, of lands called the Forrest Lands late belonging to John Hawkrigg deceased.

Condition: to indemnify said John Park from and against all dower and right and title which Sarah, wife of said Edward Barrow may claim if and in two freehold closes at Heald in Loughrigge conveyed (by lease and release of even date) by Edward Barrow to John Park.

Premises: all that close or intack called Dunnabreck Intack between Guddy lane on south, ground of Edwin Green of Blintern Gill on west and ground of Robert Harrison on north, also one parcel of ground in the Broad gate near the White Bridge between highway on west, ground of George Fisher on north, ground of Henry Herd on south - all in Grasmere parish being of lands of Hon. Henry Lord Viscount Lonsdale and of the Marquiss Fee and of ancient yearly rent of 2d.

Petition of Samuel Grees former attorney and solicitor imprisoned in King's Bench Prison for debt - to ?
1729 admitted attorney in Court of Kings Bench and solicitor in High Court of Chancery - great losses obliged him to alter his profession and his wife took and kept the Parliament Coffee House in the Court of Requests for five Sessions of Parliament. At present petitioner has a broken arm and is in 73rd year of age.
