Statutes of St. Anne's chantry founded by Thomas More, Dean of St. Paul's (d. 1421), in a chapel in the churchyard of St. Paul's cathedral called Pardunchirchehawe, 30 May 1424. The statutes are granted by More's executors John Preston, William Wright, John Hoo, and Henry Jolypace, clerks, and require prayers for Henry VI, Edward III, Richard II, Henry IV, Henry V, Edward, late Prince of Wales, Anne, late Queen of England, John, Earl of Pembroke, and Anne his wife, William, Earl of Suffolk, and Isabel his wife, Margaret Marshall, late Countess of Norfolk, and Henry and Isabel More, parents of Thomas More, and an obit for More annually on 23 December.
Supplementary statutes dated 20 September 1429 and 17 October 1432, the latter in a different hand and attested by James Cole, public notary, with notarial certificate and device. On f. 10v are prayers, temp. Henry VII.
Written in Latin on vellum. 24 x 30 cms. Vellum covers of later date. Sotheby's cat. 10 June 1963 (item 163). Purchased Francis Edwards (cat. 874 item 550), 1965
