World Netball was founded in 1960 and is the worldwide governing body for Netball. It was previously known as the International Netball Federation (INF) and the International Federation of Netball Associations. In June 2021, the INF officially rebranded itself to become known as World Netball. It is responsible for world rankings, maintaining the rules for netball and organising the Netball World Cup (formerly the Netball World Championships) and Netball at the Commonwealth Games. World Netball are also responsible for organising the Netball World Youth Cup (formerly the World Youth Netball Championships).

World Netball has a Board of Directors comprising of a President, Vice President, Finance Director, a Further Director and five elected regional representatives. The Board is responsible for the key decisions regarding the business of the Federation in between Congress, held every two years. The Board presides over the activity of the World Netball Secretariat and currently meets three times a year, usually outside the UK. Minutes and reports of meetings are lodged at the registered office of INF Ltd in the Isle of Man. The World Netball Board works for netball and netballers around the world. The Board members share a passion for netball and have a huge depth and range of experience in netball, sport and business.
