Particulars and conditions of sale of property at 60, Clapham Road, Bedford, to be sold by auction by W & H Peacock at the Red Lion Hotel, Bedford on 4th May 1928 with vacant possession.
Title to commence with Indenture of Mortgage dated 25th June 1888; and subject to restrictive covenants in a Conveyance of 16th April 1884
Includes attached:
- various proofs and drafts of above - Typescript transcript of covenants in a deed of 16th April 1884 -Printed particulars for land and property to be sold by W & H Peacock at the Red Lion Hotel, Bedford on 29th Jan 1926 viz: shop and accommodation at 8 St John's Street, Bedford; bungalow, Hillside, Clapham with outbuildings and 2a of pasture; and three enclosures of pasture containing 2a and 4.843a, one plot adjoins above bungalow, two plots (OS 42-43) near the Swan, Bromham (on back of above draft) -Correspondence re sale of the property. Refers to the most effective method of sale, auction or private, and expenses for same. Mentions ineffectiveness of sale by auction as against private sale in Bedford as residents "come from all over the world for education....[at]all times of the year".
