Gallantry Notes: MC: For conspicuous gallantry during a raid. He rushed a machine gun up to a crater of a newly exploded mine and by his pluck and skill, held the enemy off for forty minutes until our raiding party had withdrawn. He and his team were under heavy fire.;

Was Prefect of Hall, Capt of Cricket & Hockey and Capt of Shooting at OTC when at Ellesmere College. Unmarried.;
