Description

Files and packets of estate and legal papers and correspondence relating (inter alia) to right of common on Rixon, 1775, 1891-1912, repairs to Priory and drainage problems, 1854-1913, allegations of encroachments by Southcombe's glove factory [? built in 1870s], status of road at Langlands 1922-1937, and a file of misc. information [with list of contents at front] compiled or copied by J.W.B. Hawkesworth.

The survey of common rights, 1775, has an interesting list of terms for the subdivision of a leaze. Engraved billhead of ?Southcombe's shop front, 1873
