2. Charles Cooke of Macclesfield, Gent.
Proposed deed of further charge on an estate (created by Lease and Release 11 & 12 December 1794 between the parties, in trust for the discharge of Downes's debts by Cooke as Trustee provided without prejudice to claims of Rev. Henry Offley Wright, clerk, and Lawrence Wright Esq), to secure, over and above mortgage sums of £3,800, £6,875, £3,000, a total of £950 owed to Thomas Henshall late of Nether Alderley co, Chester, yeoman, dcsd., Joseph Sutton of Sutton in the parish of Prestbury, yeoman, Andrew Whittaker of Chorley, yeoman, Thomas Swanwick late of Drayton in Hales, co.Salop, Gent, dcsd, John Clayton of Butley, yeoman, Thomas Swain of Northrode, yeoman; estate consists in a close in Butley called the Eyes, parcel of the capital messuage in Butley called Butley Hall formerly held by Peter Downes Esq dcsd, late father of Edward Downes and afterwards by Peter Brooke, reserved out of the sale of Butley Hall to Elizabeth Legh, widow; and copyhold land in Shrigley alias Pott Shrigley, Bollington, Rainow, and Hurdsfield within the manor and forest Macclesf'd.
