Abstract of title of the devisee in trust named in will of the late Mr Samuel Legh

30 June 1784 Will of Edward Davies of Welch Frankton in the parish of Whittington gentleman. He bequeathed to Walter Broughall of Kinsall, Whittington, all real estate in Frankton in trust to sell for payment of debts and legacies, after to testator's nephew Edward Davies his heirs and assigns. Broughall sole executor. Proved St Asaph 23 May 1787

(3) Sarah Bradley widow, Daniel Menlove hatter and Margaret his wife, Winifred Watkis widow, Charles Humphreys flaxdresser and Elizabeth his wife, and Edward Williams

(4) Edward Davies (since deceased)

(5) John Povey of Felton Butler gentleman (also since deceased)

The property was security for a mortgage to Martha Davies for £420 and another to Byollin for £250

Consideration £420 to her and £250 to Byollin and £80 to Edward Davies, paid by Povey - total £760

Release to Povey and heirs of a messuage and closes in Welch Frankton, subject to mortgage proviso

Recital of lease and release of 28 and 29 September 1783

Amount secured on the property £970 at time of Povey's death and now £1020.17.4

Release to Elizabeth Povey and heirsm subject to proviso Edward Davies the testator's personal estate did not meet the debts and legacies, the executor had agreed with Richard Legh for sale of the messuage and land for £1600

Consideration £1132.17.0 to Elizabeth Povey and £467.3.0 to Broughall and 5s to Davies

Release of the messuage and inclosures called Peakin, Wellfield, the Alder field, the Crosty field. Gaello, the Great meadow, the Horse meadow, Lumer, Brynyberllau, Erw Farthing als little Brynyberllau, the New Piece, the Townfield, Coppice meadow, the Yewtree field, the Cae Glibion and Cae Fadior, in Welch Frankton, Whittington (Widow Price)

Will of Richard Legh, gave all property to his brother Samuel Legh his heirs and assigns, chargeable with payment of £2950 (£400 to his brother in law Edward Kynaston of Ellesmere gentleman, £500 to his sister in law Mary Perrott of Ellesmere, £100 to Thomas Kynaston son of Edward, £100 to Mrs Broome wife of the Rev Henry Selleck Broome and a daughter of Edward Kynaston, £100 to Miss Eliza Kynaston another daughter, £100 to Richard Perrott son of Mary Perrott, £100, to Samuel Perrott Simcox another son of Mary Perrott, £50 to his sister in law Alice Legh, £750 to his nephew Henry Legh and £700 to his nephew Robert Legh, sons of Alice, £50 to his partner Thomas Edwards as an executor; Samuel Legh and Thomas Edwards and Henry Legh executors.
