6 horse power independent crank engine, with 16 inch cylinder, 2 foot stroke, parallel motion, cast iron beam, cast iron connecting rod, A frames.Reverse plan of the engine and boiler, cross-section of the engine house, cross-section of the boiler, longitudinal section of the engine and boiler; sheet of notes on sugar and treacle apparatus and rough sketch plan and elevation of the premises, 8 Mar. 1814 (with press copy plan and section of the engine and boiler dated Apr. 1814 stuck on); shaft and ?, Apr. 1814. The reverse drawings bear letter codes.
Original Portfolio or 'Book' No. 689. Catalogue of Old Engines p. 242.
For Hodgson & Son. Sugar refinery, London. This engine was originally made for B. Benyon of Shrewsbury, but he countermanded it in Jan. 1814.
