The Lodge of Good Intent was named and established in 1785 and met at the Ship Tavern, Leadenhall Street, London. In 1824 the lodge met at the Old Chesterfield Arms, Shepherds' Market, Mayfair, London. In 1826 it united with the St. James' Union Lodge No. 299, which met at the Red Lion, Old Cavendish Street, Oxford Street. The united lodge used the name St. James' Union Lodge and met at the Old Chesterfield Arms, Shepherds' Market, Mayfair. The St. James' Union Lodge No. 180 now meets at Freemasons' Hall, Great Queen Street, London.
