The items listed were found among the possessions of the donor's late mother, whose father, Albert Fairbrother, farmed in Wadhurst., chiefly at Perrins Farm, Cousley Wood. Albert was born c1864 to Samuel Fairbrother and his wife Sarah (née Paige), and married Jane Baker Carpenter (born 25 November 1860 at Wadhurst). Albert died in 1925, and the farm was given up about a year later. His son, Joseph O Fairbrother, lived at Durgates in Wadhurst for some years before his death in 1990. The link between the family and these documents is not known.
