United Kingdom: England, northeast coast and Wales, north coast: Lancashire, Cheshire and Flintshire: Liverpool Bay including the River Mersey and the River Dee. 'An Entire New Chart of the Banks, Channels, Anchorages and Soundings, at low water sping tides, Extending from Formby Point to the Point of Ayr, With the Harbour of Liverpool. From an Actual and Faithful Survey. Projected on a Trigonometrical Plan'. Includes five views: 1) ‘Formby Marks on the Point B’; 2) ‘Bootle Marks’; 3) ‘Thus appears Bidston Hill, two lights near in one from the point G’; 4) ‘Thus appears Great Helbra Island from the Anchorage off the NE [northeast] Buoy’; 5) ‘Bidston and Lizza lights from point K’. Chart shows coastline, hydrography, anchorages, buoys, lighthouses (Bidston Light, Lizza Light, Lake Lights, Point of Air [Ayr] Light House), topography, land use (glass works), settlements, buildings, military installations, land marks, sight lines, remarks and explanatory key. Printed. Watermark: 'J [James] Whatman 1811'. North point (orientation to south) with compass indicator and magnetic north variation. Scale: 4.5 inches to 2 leagues or 6 nautical miles. Survey 'completed in the year 1813, and followed up to the present date 31 March 1814 by Thomas Evans, Lietenant, Royal Navy'; engraved by R Gregory, Liverpool; 'Examined and Approved of by the Pilot Committee and Master Pilots July 2 -The alteration made October 1st 1814'. Annotated with yellow and red ink (on lighthouses and buoys); (in red ink): '781'
