In August 1987 on his leaving the county, Brian Franks of deposited his archive with the Bedfordshire Record Office.
The archive represented Brian's many interests and was accumlated from the 1970's to the 1980's it falls into three main groups: The Progressive Jewish Congregation in Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire, Folk Dancing and the Scribblers Writers Circles, based on Luton. Previously the Record Office had little or no documents relating to these subjects for this period. A smaller numbers of documents shed light on the Bedfordshire Region of National Deaf Children and Woodcraft, a Labour movement version of the Scouts.
