1. Correspondence and papers of Henry Coventry, Secretary of State, relating to London; 1674-1680.
Included, among other matter, are letters, etc., of Lord Keeper Finch, Lord Treasurer Danby, Secretary Sir Joseph Williamson and Lord Mayor Sir Robert Vyner as to disorders in the Common Council on the election of a Judge of the Sheriff's Court, Mar., 1674-1675 (ff.7-26); and of Lords Craven, Anglesey and Northampton, Sec. Williamson, Sir R. Vyner and Sir John Robinson, Lieut. of the Tower, as to riots of Spitalfields weavers, Aug., 1675. (ff.32-107).
2. Correspondence and papers relating to Scotland; 1664-1682. Preceded by a few earlier papers (copies), viz., Letters of marque from the Scots Council to Will. Makesun against the French, 25 Feb., 1559. f.125;- Articles for the cessation of arms at Ripon, 16 Oct., 1640, with other papers in the negotiations with the Scots to 7 Jan., 1641. ff.126-135;- Propositions for peace from Parliament and the Scots Commissioners to Charles I. [1644?], with erasures and interlineations. f.136.
