Description (What the record is about)
-
A series of Ordnance Survey 25-inch sheets covering the area of Battle Rural District Council. They mainly belong to the edition of the 1920s and some bear the stamp of the Surveyor's Department of March 1935: otherwise they are undated. Manuscript additions show parish and ward boundaries, sites and outlines of new buildings and house names. They seem to have been updated to the 1950s and some have been used to record footpaths, with numbers, presumably as part of the survey under the National Parks and Access to the Countryside Act 1949
