The Ledbury Turnpike Trust was established by an Act of Parliament in 1721. It was the first turnpike trust to be set up in Herefordshire, and was specific to the roads entering the town of Ledbury. The trust lasted for over one hundred years, before being surpassed by the coming of the railways in the 1880's.
