The school opened on 12 January 1920. In 1946 the Infants department became Junior Mixed and Infants, whilst the Junior school became Lyndhurst Road Secondary Modern School for Girls. It was renamed North End Secondary Modern in 1952, becoming Lyndhurst Middle in 1975. The Infant School became College Park First School in 1975.
