Observations on Aire tide river from Selby to Aire mouth; detailed consideration of effects of winds etc., on sailing vessels; opposition at Hull to bill centred on Mr. Birt as lessee and importer but that danger now over "New branches of trade on the Air that was not, prior to Mr. Birt having the lease. If the mill owners had been satisfyed I do not believe the Commercial people would have interfered at the proposed amendments upon the old river in 1772 ..."
