Title

Letter of Royal Oak Lodge, Ripon to William Henry White and Edwards Harper, Joint Grand Secretaries

Date

13 November 1827

Description

Letter of members of Royal Oak Lodge, Ripon, signed by William Scoop, Past Master, N Henry, Christopher Johnson, William Turner, William Clark, Thomas Skipsey and David East (formerly of Lodge, No. 331 [SN 1485], in the 7th Regiment of Light Dragoons or Hussars), to the Joint Grand Secretaries. Send White and Harper a list of all members known to have been initiated in or joined the Lodge since 1811 and send a sum as a contribution towards the back payment of dues for the Charity Fund. Seek the indulgence of Grand Lodge as many members have since died and the last Treasurer, Brother Barlinson, became insolvent leading to the loss of all Lodge funds. Promise good conduct in future if the Lodge can be revived. Inform Grand Lodge that John Booth was admitted and James Bowman initiated since the last member was listed by Grand Lodge in 1811.
