Folio 672. Letter from Walter May Barton, Clerk to the Guardians of the Mitford and Launditch Poor Law Union, to the Local Government Board. He writes that the sale of Bawdeswell Parish Property within the Mitford and Launditch Poor Law Union is to take place on 28 October 1880.
He asks to be informed prior to the sale taking place, if there is to be any reserve bidding and if so whether it is to be fixed by the Local Government Board or by the auctioneer. He understands that, as the interest of the several parishes is, in consequence of the encumbrances worthless, that there will be no reserve bidding.
Annotated: 'Immediate, Mr Fry. Acknowledge and state, so far as the interest of the parishes is concerned the Guardians of the Mitford and Launditch Union are the proper parties to determine whether there will be a reserve bidding or not, and if any, its amount', 19 October 1880.
