These consist of warrants to the Sheriff and inquisitions, including adjudications, by Special Grand Juries relating to compensation for damage to, and purchase of, properties undertaken by various Schemes. They were usually provided for in the particular legislation of the relevant Scheme; by Act of 8, 9 Victoria c.18 (1845) the verdict and judgment were to be signed by the Sheriff and deposited with the Clerk of the Peace.
