Our view was to obtain from BOAC the size of aircraft required by them for future operation in terms of all-up weight and passenger accommodation. They are opposed to weights of about 200,000 lb and over owing to restricted airport use. There is no ideal number of passenger, but 100 at tourist rate would be acceptable. The conclusions reached by Avro in their comparison of the relative merits of the P.146 and Olympus versions of their Atlantic aircraft were explained. The latter version consists of a new fuselage but maintaining the Vulcan wing, the all-up weight for 100 passengers being 204,500 lb. The P.145 version is virtually a new aircraft throughout owing to the size of the engine
