Description (What the record is about)
-
The Deanery, Pontesbury, Salop.
Richard T. Seddon to Swire.
He has again heard from the Bishop and sends a copy of the end of his letter "as Rector of both first and second portions why should you not be content to relieve the third portionist from his duty in the Parish Church in exchange for your duty of visiting Longden Parish six months in the year and say, taking Asterley instead of Cruckton and making a convenient division of territory. He has written to the Bishop and said he has gone further offering to take the whole of the third portionist's duty except Longden and the whole of the second portion except Cruckton, and that even this offer has been rejected, or at any rate not accepted. "and therefore both my brother and I are absolutely agreed that we cannot do more".
In pencil in Swire's hand? "How about Schools".
