- letters and Red Cross messages (55) exchanged with his wife, Elsa, documenting his internment by the Japanese, initially in his home town of Tientsin and then in the Civilian Assembly Centre (internment camp) at Weihsien / Weixian in the Japanese-occupied Shandong Province of northern China, and the experiences of his wife and children as refugees in Sydney, Australia; with associated documents, photographs and ephemera retained by Puncheon from this period and from his postwar life in Hong Kong
