This series contains guidance to the general public and publicity material on the operation of the Data Protection Act 1984 and the work of the Office of the Data Protection Registrar.
The guidance provides an introduction to the Act and gives definitions and principles of data protection. It explains what rights individuals have and help organisations decide whether they are data users or computer bureaux, and whether or not they have to register. It includes examples of registration forms.
Information on the Act is also provided by publicity material such as leaflets, stickers, newsbriefings and a data protection newsletter series.
