Folios 263-266. Letter from the Reverend John Griffith, Manchester magistrate, reporting statements made in June 1793 by Benjamin Booth, secretary to a society [Constitutional Society] held at the house of Thomas Walker, whilst in custody on a charge of uttering seditious words. Booth had described the inflammatory speeches of George McCullum, believed now to be in America, and said that Walker had announced one night that every man should provide himself with a musket, as he would soon need it.
