Folios 239-240. Letter to Evan Nepean, Under-Secretary, Home Office, from Colonel Oliver De Lancey, Barrack-Master General, reporting the outcome of conversations, held at Mr Pitt's request, with Mr Burke and the Marquis of Buckingham over the projected move of the French Clergy from Winchester to accommodation at Reading, Farnham and Stockbridge, and the future arrangements for the security of French prisoners. In view of the adverse reactions of both Burke and Buckingham to the plans, De Lancey asks Nepean to alert Pitt before they speak to him directly on the matter.
