Description

Correspondence received from Miscellaneous Offices (Government Departments and other organisations) on subjects concerning Trinidad received during the period July to December 1916, together with correspondence from individuals received during 1916.

Miscellaneous Offices:

  • War Trade Department (coconuts for the United States of America; cinematograph films, sound recordings and photographic plates etc.; asphalt to Holland);
  • War Trade Intelligence Department (interception concerning case of Mr P Scheerer; enquiry concerning Messrs Kleinwort Sons & Company; letter from Adolf Wessblad, New York, to Bruno Kassmann, Stockholm);
  • Foreign Trade Department (Messrs Brahm & Company of Lima; detained goods for Venezuela; Statutory Black List for Venezuela; British trade in Venezuela);
  • Royal Mail Steam Packet Company (withdrawal of coastal steamer);
  • Portsmouth Mental Hospital (condition of Mr A H Baker);
  • Colonial Nursing Association (recommends Miss Catherine Jones for appointment as charge nurse at the Colonial Hospital, Port of Spain);
  • Trinidad Shipping & Trading Company Limited (wish to dispose of shares held by Mr H Hoffmann);
