Correspondence from the Admiralty, Crown Agents, Privy Council Office and Foreign Office on matters concerning Trinidad:

Admiralty:

  • Oil lease of Messrs Pearson & Sons;
  • Local defence of Trinidad and identification of approaching vessels;
  • Services rendered to the Navy by United British West Indies Petroleum Syndicate;
  • Difficulty of obtaining oil fuel of quality required;
  • Crown Agents proposal concerning lease of oilfields to Messrs Pearson & Sons;
  • Renewal of pipe line agreement with United British West Indies Petroleum Syndicate;
  • Development of oil industry;
  • Oil concession to Messrs Pearson and employment of United States citizen as general manager;

Crown Agents:

  • Oil prospecting licences;
  • Financing of Savings Bank;
  • Application of British West Indies Petroleum Syndicate for extension of the period of their pipeline agreement;

  • Requests enquiry into precise national status and sympathies of Mr C Boos, consul for Italy, stated to be of German origin;
  • Prisoner of war Boris Savof: forwards copy of note received from the Russian Ambassador [in French];

  • Forwards draft of note addressed to the United States Charge d'Affaires in London relating to the case of Mr Paul Scheerer agreeing that Mr Scheerer should be ordered to leave Trinidad [with several more letters on subject];
